The MSS squad had a busy day on Thursday as they attended the Kawasaki MX Launch at FatCat Motoparc in Doncaster then travelled to Colchester Kawasaki for the dealership’s busy launch night for 2011 models. The four riders (Gary Mason, Stuart Easton, Howie Mainwaring and Danny Buchan), who all have their own KX250F and 450F machines, kept up their training with a little off-season competition as they showed their skills to the MX experts. Stuart Easton was adjudged to be very smooth and fast, a trait that he shows when on the tarmac also. After a quick hosing off, the riders took part in the unveiling of the new 2011 Kawasaki models at Colchester Kawasaki where MSS is based. The dealership took part in the Nationwide Launch evening which culminated in one lucky customer winning a trip to the Kawasaki factory in Japan. Partnering with another MSS sponsor Blackhorse Finance, Colchester Kawasaki also gave away a new ZX6R to one of their own customers. The evening was also used to highlight the newly re-launched Kawasaki Riders Club with benefits to members attending WSB and BSB, discounts on products and trackdays, plus magazines with exclusive articles from behind the scenes in racing and from the Kawasaki factory. Several hundred Colchester Kawasaki customers filled the large dealership and listened intently as the riders were interviewed about the season ahead with Easton’s report from his World Superbike testing in Sepang on the 2011 machine. With all four riders utilising the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R machine in both Superbike and Superstock, there was more than a little interest as they fired up the first customer bike in the dealership. MSS Colchester Kawasaki Team Manager Nick Morgan explained, “Busy day for the lads today and what I like is their willingness to get involved. I was relieved to see them all come back from the MX unscathed and they spent a whole evening being interviewed and chatting to the fans at the showroom so thanks to them for all their efforts, it certainly was a successful evening. Now down to business as we all have a lot of work to do to ensure we come out of the blocks fighting for the first round of BSB.” |
