After lifting the GSX-R European Cup title and having an impressive Supersport debut at Imola and Magny Cours, Alstare gave Hudson Kennaugh the chance to test for their Supersport and Superstock team at Valencia in Spain. The test took place on the 14th and 15th November, however the first day was a compete wash out leaving the bulk of the testing to take place on day two when the weather improved. Hudson wasn’t able to test the Supersport machine but he did have an impressive outing on the Superstock bike, as he explains “The test went great, I was faster than Chiarello and my lap time would have put me on the front row. Considering the track had no grip I was pleased with that. Also I passed James Toseland in the damp conditions, so I’m quiet happy about that too,” he grinned. Riccardo Chiarello rode the Alstare machine this season in the European Superstock finishing sixth over all in the Championship. In any team the rider’s first goal is to beat his team mate and Hudson made sure he did that. His lap time was an impressive 1min 39.6secs, just 4secs off the fastest time set by a Lorenzo Lanzi on the Xerox Ducati Superbike. Even though Hudson had an excellent and impressive test with the Alstare test, he still hasn’t signed a deal for next season, and he is still looking at other teams and options. “I’d like to go Supersport if possible as it is a full blown World Championship and I am still talking to Moto -1 who I rode for at Imola and Magny Cours. At the minute all I need is a yes from someone,” concluded Hudson.
