This weekend I am competing in the Superstock and Superbike races at Daytona. www.teammarshallracing.co.uk have signed me to ride for them again this year on board there new Kawasaki ZX10R and as a pre season test to the BSB championship they decided to go to Daytona.
This should be a fantastic experience as I get to compete in both classes albeit on the superstock bike in superbike but this gives us a lot more track time.
I will have my work cut out though as I haven't even sat on the bike yet and have never been to Daytona. The team and I are in Florida now and the weather is looking great but we have had some minor issues with getting the bikes into the circuit, these yanks sure do stick to the rules.
The bikes are still completely standard in the engine department (even down to the exhaust, slip ons are the only mod). The suspension has been modified by K-Tech in the UK so we should have a good start point.
Fingers crossed we can get used to the track and bike quickly and come away with a good result in Superstock and not get too demolished in Superbike.
