Hudson Kennaugh blew away the competition in the GSX-R European Cup qualifying to take pole position, with a superb lap time of 1min 46.590secs - his closest rival was David Salon with a 1min 47.010secs. On the Supersport front Kennaugh qualified in seventeenth position, just outside the top fifteen which had been his aim for the weekend, his team mate Matthieu Lagrive was twelfth. “We worked really hard yesterday and we weren’t quite on pole but today we pulled it out the bag and again we were on a time that would have put us top twenty in Supersport,” said Kennaugh “I feel really, really quick on the stock 750 so I’m really happy and it is my first pole of the season and hopefully it will be good for race day.” Kennaugh’s game plan for the GSX-R Cup is to try and get away at the front “The bike is working good I just hope that when the tyres go off we can hang in there. Hopefully get a break because it’s going to be crazy, like with any of us winning the championship, I think when it comes to the last corner it will be the last man standing that wins.” He admits that both his rivals are on his mind at the moment “I’m worried about both of them, Morales and Salon. The beauty of it is no one wants to crash and no one can afford to so there will be a bit of respect but when it comes down to it if you are third coming into the last bend, then you’ve got nothing to lose!” On the Supersport front Hudson was a little disappointed with seventeenth as he explains “Sixteenth would have been a whole row higher. It was a bit of inexperience on my side of things, I missed my second qualifying tyre and I thought I can just push a bit more but it doesn’t really work like that at this level of racing, you can’t just push and get half a second, I needed a new tyre but I didn’t get enough time. Bit disappointed with that but in the race we should have good pace and we’ve got more things to try in warm up. We need another half a second and then we can really challenge especially if something happens, it could be really good for us.” World Supersport – Magny Cours Combined Qualifying 1 - Fabrizio Michel - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'44.113 - 1'43.835 - 1'43.835 2 - Curtain Kevin - Yamaha YZF R6 - 1'44.177 - 1'43.983 - 1'43.983 3 - Foret Fabien - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'44.311 - 1'44.080 - 1'44.080 4 - Parkes Broc - Yamaha YZF R6 - 1'44.770 - 1'44.222 - 1'44.222 5 - Fujiwara Katsuaki - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'45.099 - 1'44.295 - 1'44.295 6 - Nannelli Gianluca - Ducati 749 R - 1'45.079 - 1'44.545 - 1'44.545 7 - Vos Arie - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'45.378 - 1'44.695 - 1'44.695 8 - Stigefelt Johan - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'45.454 - 1'44.767 - 1'44.767 9 - Fores Javi - Suzuki GSX 600R - 1'45.027 - 1'44.905 - 1'44.905 10 - Chambon Stéphane - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'45.327 - 1'45.263 - 1'45.263 11 - Canepa Niccolò - Kawasaki ZX 6RR - 1'46.191 - 1'45.274 - 1'45.274 12 - Lagrive Matthieu - Suzuki GSX 600R - 1'45.581 - 1'45.428 - 1'45.428 13 - Harms Robbin - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'45.555 - - 1'45.555 14 - Lauslehto Tatu - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'45.746 - 1'45.885 - 1'45.746 15 - Janssen Jarno - Suzuki GSX 600R - 1'46.031 - 1'45.823 - 1'45.823 16 - Zaiser Christian - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'46.197 - 1'46.000 - 1'46.000 * 17 - KENNAUGH HUDSON - SUZUKI GSX 600R - 1'47.235 - 1'46.289 - 1'46.289 * 18 - Corradi Alessio - Ducati 749 R - 1'46.560 - 1'46.402 - 1'46.402 19 - Enjolras Julien - Yamaha YZF R6 - 1'48.898 - 1'46.456 - 1'46.456 20 - Chaemsap Suhathai - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'47.650 - 1'46.905 - 1'46.905 21 - Penna Sami - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'48.271 - 1'46.969 - 1'46.969 22 - Goi Ivan - Yamaha YZF R6 - 1'47.792 - 1'47.290 - 1'47.290 23 - Haarala Topi - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'48.421 - 1'47.884 - 1'47.884 24 - Metro Thomas - Suzuki GSX 600R - 1'49.211 - 1'48.292 - 1'48.292 25 - Van Steenbergen Ron - Suzuki GSX 600R - 1'50.960 - 1'48.597 - 1'48.597 26 - Forner Garcia - Honda CBR 600RR - 1'48.872 - 1'49.647 - 1'48.872 27 - Lefort Gregory - Yamaha YZF R6 - - 1'49.026 - 1'49.026 28 - Hurtado R.
