Race Report by Metzeler 2007 British 125GP champion, Luke Jones, stamped his authority on the National Superstock 600 series with his third win of the season and the championship lead at Snetterton (15 June). Jones took the holeshot from pole position on the RDL UK1 Racing Yamaha, with AJ Venter (M.A.P Embassy Racing Triumph) and Jimmy Hill on the Team EMCO Yamaha in hot pursuit. The opening few exchanges saw Hill come under pressure from Lee Johnston’s Trevor Pennell Transport Yamaha and championship leader Robbie Brown, as Luke Jones pulled an unassailable two second gap at the head of the field. An incident involving Joe Akroyd and Sam Neate at the start of lap 11 at Riches, saw the red flag bring about an abrupt end to proceedings. With results brought back a lap, Luke Jones took the victory and the lead in the title race from Robbie Brown. Just five points now separates a trio of riders in the hunt for the title. Luke Stapleford (Bournemouth Kawasaki/Hawk), claimed fifth and the David Jeffries Memorial Prize for the highest placed under-16 rider. The championship receives a five week break before heading to Oulton Park, Cheshire, for round six (18-20 July). Luke Jones: “I went away from the pack and put my head down, putting in some quick laps to break away. By the mid-point my tyres were beginning to lose grip and the bike was moving a little. I could see the gap coming down from my pit board so I opened it up again. I had a huge smile under my helmet as I was really enjoying the race. It’s great to come away with a win and the championship lead.” National Superstock 600 – Snetterton Race Result Pos – Rider – Bike – Team - Time 1 - Luke Jones - Yamaha - RDL UK1 Racing - 11:48.927 2 - Lee Johnston - Yamaha - Trevor Pennell Transport - 11:50.918 3 - Allan Jon Venter - Triumph - MAP Embassy Racing - 11:51.623 4 - Robbie Brown - Yamaha - RobbieBrownRacing.com - 11:54.958 5 - Luke Stapleford - Kawasaki - Bournemouth Kawasaki / Hawk - 11:58.917 6 - Jimmy Hill - Yamaha -Team Emco - 11:59.049 7 - Leon Hunt - Yamaha - Excel Performance Yamaha - 12:00.411 8 - Chris Northover - Yamaha -Team HARIBO Starmix - 12:01.431 9 - Joshua Day - Yamaha - Mainstream Digital - 12:01.545 10 - Jamie Hamilton - Kawasaki - MSS Colchester Kawasaki - 12:03.609 11 - Jess Trayler - Kawasaki - MSS Discovery Racing - 12:04.159 12 - Joe Burns - Yamaha -No Limits Trackdays - 12:04.937 13 - Johnny Blackshaw - Yamaha -Team HARIBO Starmix - 12:04.984 14 - Dan Kneen - Yamaha - Kneen Machine Road Racing - 12:05.054 15 - Jonathan Railton - Yamaha - Ducks Cross Racing Team - 12:05.760 16 - Kieran Morley-Payne - Yamaha - Racepaint UK - 12:07.131 17 - Jonathan Dickson - Yamaha - Bell Yamaha Racing - 12:07.419 18 - Mike Mclean - Yamaha - CM Racing - 12:08.298 19 - Nikki Coates - Honda - Dyer Crossgills Racing - 12:09.358 20 - Olie Linsdell - Yamaha - Team Blackhorse Racing - 12:11.568 21 - David Haire - Yamaha - TK Racing - 12:12.264 22 - Philip Atkinson - Kawasaki - JX Kawasaki - 12:12.787 23 - Alex Gault - Kawasaki - Astro Racing Kawasaki - 12:12.833 24 - Dane Hellyer - Kawasaki - JX Kawasaki - 12:13.122 25 - Jay Dunn - Honda - Bespoke Racing - 12:14.119 26 - Aj Johnson - Yamaha - AJ Team Racing - 12:14.358 27 - Andrew Sennett - Yamaha - Sennett Racing - 12:17.895 28 - Josh Caygill - Yamaha - VW Van (WY) Racing - 12:20.973 29 - Matt Bilton - Yamaha - HB Motorcycles Racing - 12:21.122 30 - Robert Guinan - Yamaha - Bridgehouse / Options Racing - 12:21.356 31 - Bruce Wilson - Suzuki - Motorcycle Racer / Team Inox - 12:21.861 Not Classified DNF - Joe Akroyd - Triumph - Gemboy Racing - 12:08.480 DNF - Sam Neate - Kawasaki - MSS Discovery / RBP Kawasak - 12:08.683 DNF - Steve Smith - Triumph - Steve Smith Racing - 7:27.478 DNF - Andy Yelland - Yamaha - - 7:27.564 DNF - George Hogton-Rusling - Yamaha - RFS Racing - 6:05.681 DNF - Jack Groves - Yamaha - TK Racing - 6:05.890 DNF - Anthony Rogers - Suzuki - Team Rogers Racing - 6:06.401 DNF - Michael Booth - Honda - Jadan Print Racing - 5:03.353 DNF - Matt Woolridge - Triumph - Matt Woolridge Racing Championship Points 1 - Luke Jones - 86 2 - Robbie Brown - 82 3 - Lee Johnston - 81 4 - Allan Jon Venter - 57 5 - Jamie Hamilton - 50 6 - Chris Northover - 44 7 - David Haire - 42 8 - Luke Stapleford - 30 9 - Leon Hunt - 29 10 - Joshua Day - 28
