Alastair Seeley lined up for his first pole position of the season, breaking the season-long domination of Kirkham and Brogan. With Kirkham withdrawing from the class overnight to concentrate on an unexpected call-up to the Rob Mac Racing Superbike team, Adrian Coates was elevated forward for a front row start. Brogan led the freight train through Paddock Hill and up into Druids, as a startline incident with Howie Mainwaring stalling and being clipped by two riders, saw first the safety car deployed, then the red flag signalling a swift end to proceedings. An 18-lap restart was called with original grid positions, minus the unfortunate Mainwaring. Alastair Seeley took the holeshot on the restart to lead for the opening few corners. Brogan slipped the Honda UK Racing CBR1000RR deftly underneath at Clearways, for a lead that he would only momentarily relinquish over the following 17 laps. Peter Hickman took second spot into Paddock Hill at the start of lap 7, as Brogan headed a five-bike break. By twothirds distance, Marshall Neill was the man in ascendency, posting a new lap record (47.834), before unceremoniously being dumped into the Paddock Hill gravel on lap 17. Hickman made a move for the lead into Druids but ran deep allowing Brogan back to the front. Finally, it all came down to the drag out of the final corner, with Brogan holding firm at the flag by just 0.004s from the Ultimate Racing Yamaha. Steve Brogan, Race Winner: “The injury to my foot wasn’t too bad once the race was finally underway and the adrenalin had kicked in. It was more a case of trying to reposition my foot on the peg that proved the problem. Honda has developed a fantastic package in the new Fireblade this season,, and 8 wins speaks for that. A big thanks to Honda UK and to HM Plant for al their hard work this year. To be honest, I’m more nervous about my meeting with Honda in a minute about next season than I was about this race!” National Superstock 1000 - Brands Hatch Race Result Pos - Rider - Bike _ Team - Time 1 - Steve Brogan - Honda - Honda UK Racing - 14:32.127 2 - Peter Hickman - Yamaha - Ultimate Racing - 14:32.131 3 - Alastair Seeley - Yamaha - Team Rea Estates Racing - 14:32.491 4 - Ben Wilson - Yamaha - Ben-Wilson-Racing.com - 14:32.834 5 - Adrian Coates - Yamaha - Dyer Crossgills Racing - 14:38.031 6 - Richard Cooper - Yamaha - Co-Ordit Racing - 14:38.315 7 - Daniel Hegarty - Yamaha - SPR Racing - 14:40.974 8 - Victor Cox - Yamaha - VC Motorsport / STP Motorsport - 14:42.000 9 - Steve Mercer - Yamaha - Sondel / Power2Connect - 14:42.038 10 - Lee Jackson - Yamaha - Vanfit Yamaha - 14:43.031 11 - Jimmy Storrar - Suzuki - Jimmy Storrar Racing - 14:44.256 12 - Conor Cummins - Yamaha - Team Blackhorse Yamaha - 14:45.761 13 - Christian Elkin - Kawasaki - Motorcycle Centre Stockport - 14:46.140 14 - Kieran Clarke - Honda - Hydrex Bike Animal Honda - 14:46.230 15 - Martin Buckles - Kawasaki - JX Kawasaki - 14:46.713 16 - Dan Stewart - Yamaha -Wilcock Consulting - 14:47.001 17 - Kierran Blair - Suzuki - Unique Racing / Morello Roofing - 14:48.385 18 - Gavin Hunt - Honda - Tiletec Honda - 14:53.788 19 - Jonathan Howarth - Suzuki - Jonathan Howarth Racing - 14:55.865 20 - James Hurrell - Yamaha - Enanjay Racing - 14:57.110 21 - Graham English - Yamaha - Tiva Engineering - 15:00.787 22 - Michael Elliott - Yamaha - M Elliott Racing - 15:01.995 23 - Alan Moreton - Yamaha - Alamo Racing Ltd - 15:02.214 24 - Grant Molloy - Honda - Grant Molloy Racing - 15:02.802 25 - Rhys Boyd - Yamaha - Rockforge Racing - 15:05.262 26 - Mark Van Daalen - Yamaha - Dutch-2-UK Racing - 15:07.088 Not Classified DNF - Marshall Neill - Honda - Mahon Garden Centre - 12:56.407 DNF - Tom Clegg - Yamaha - Vanfit Yamaha - 14:14.532 DNF - Patrick Muff - Suzuki - TKR Suzuki Switzerland - 9:50.043 DNF - Drew Dorling - Yamaha - Torque Racing - 10:07.082 DNF - Mark Buckley - Honda - Free Brothers R'g / Portsmouth M'c - 10:11.309 DNF - Sam Warren - Yamaha - GR / Ssangyong Racing - 8:12.212 DNF - Joel Morris - Honda - SSB Sport / A1 Motorcycles - 6:35.426 DNF - Robert Kennedy - Yamaha - Rob Kennedy Racing - 3:25.873 DNF - Kenny Gilbertson - Kawasaki - Astro Racing Kawasaki - 1:43.602 DNF - James Hillier - Kawasaki - Bournemouth Kawasaki / Hawk - 1:43.824 Championship Points 1 - Steve Brogan - 273 2 - Jon Kirkham - 215 3 - Peter Hickman - 125 4 - Alistair Seeley - 108 5 - Ben Wilson - 103 6 - Adrian Coates - 102 7 - Marshall Neill - 93 8 - Lee Jackson - 93 9 - Victor Cox - 75 10 - Jimmy Storrar - 56
