Race Report by Metzeler Steve Brogan transformed his third pole position into his fourth victory of the season at Snetterton, Norfolk, during the opening 15-lap race of the day (15 June). Jon Kirkham (Raceways Yamaha) stole the holeshot with the chasing pack in hot pursuit over the opening two laps. Ben Wilson, hot off the line from a third row start came under immense pressure from Neill, Storrar, Seeley and Coates being forced back from third to seventh by the close of lap 1. Setting the new lap record on the first flying lap (1:07.219s), Steve Brogan on the Honda UK Racing CBR1000RR closed onto the tails of the breakaway Kirkham. Stealing through for the lead at the Esses on lap 4, Brogan set about extending his lead at the top of the championship table. Kirkham, although posting consistently fast laps on the Raceways Yamaha was unable to make an impression on Brogan’s lead, taking his fourth second placed finish of the campaign at the flag. As the leading pair broke away, a dramatic five-way battle unfolded in the hunt for the final podium position. Alastair Seeley (Team Rea Estates Racing Yamaha) finally made the position his own after fighting off the persistent challenges of Donington Park race winner, Marshall Neill, Adrian Coates, Jimmy Storrar and Peter Hickman. Negotiating a tricky set of back-markers over the closing two laps, Brogan took the chequered flag by three seconds from Kirkham, with Seeley in third relishing his first visit to the podium of the season. Steve Brogan, Honda (UK) Racing: "Jon got a mega start and I was a bit worried about the gap he pulled in the opening two laps. You make a plan before the race and my plan was to make a start like Jon's and make a break. I knew that I had to catch him early to stand a chance of getting away. Luckily I managed to do that, I'm happy for the win.” National Superstock 1000 – Snetterton Race Result Pos – Rider – Bike – Team - Time 1 - Steve Brogan - Honda - Honda UK Racing - 17:03.727 2 - Jon Kirkham - Yamaha - Raceways Yamaha - 17:06.807 3 - Alastair Seeley - Yamaha - Team Rea Estates Racing - 17:12.878 4 - Adrian Coates - Yamaha - Dyer Crossgills Racing - 17:14.155 5 - Marshall Neill - Suzuki - Mahon Garden Centre - 17:14.444 6 - Peter Hickman - Yamaha - Ultimate Racing - 17:14.953 7 - Ben Wilson - Yamaha - Ben-Wilson-Racing.com - 17:18.122 8 - Howie Mainwaring - Suzuki - Lenzkes Racing - 17:20.591 9 - Lee Jackson - Yamaha - NCT Racing - 17:21.330 10 - Daniel Hegarty - Yamaha - SPR Racing - 17:21.681 11 - Alex Camier - Kawasaki - Bournemouth Kawasaki / Hawk - 17:22.299 12 - Conor Cummins - Yamaha - Vanfit Yamaha - 17:25.484 13 - Victor Cox - Yamaha - VC Motorsport / STP Motorsport - 17:26.131 14 - Sam Warren - Yamaha - GR / Ssangyong Racing - 17:26.167 15 - Peter Ward - Yamaha - SCG Performance - 17:29.579 16 - Martin Buckles - Kawasaki - JX Kawasaki - 17:32.030 17 - Steve Mercer - Kawasaki - MSS Discovery Kawasaki - 17:33.262 18 - Rob Guiver - Yamaha - RG Racing - 17:33.665 19 - Christian Elkin - Kawasaki - Motorcycle Centre Stockport - 17:34.210 20 - Sam Bishop - Yamaha - Kester Cunningham John - 17:46.907 21 - Mark Lister - Suzuki - Orwell Racing - 17:47.378 22 - Craig Mclelland - Kawasaki - Shirlaw / Window Store - 17:49.196 23 - Drew Dorling - Yamaha - Freestyle Xtreme - 17:49.963 24 - Rhys Boyd - Yamaha - Rockforge Racing - 17:50.881 25 - Bryan Campbell - Suzuki - BCR - 17:50.883 26 - James Hurrell - Yamaha - Enanjay Racing - 17:51.372 27 - Phil Bevan - Yamaha - Co-ordit Racing - 17:54.164 28 - Steve Heneghan - Yamaha - Quattro Racing - 17:55.062 29 - Mark Van Daalen - Yamaha - Dutch-2-UK Racing - 17:57.604 30 - Rikki Owen - Yamaha - Rikki Owen Racing - 17:23.310 31 - Colin Young - Suzuki - T2 Racing - 17:24.779 Not Classified DNF - Jimmy Storrar - Suzuki - Jimmy Storrar Racing - 16:30.836 DNF - Craig Beggs - Yamaha - www.CraigBeggsRacing.com - 16:59.618 DNF - Dan Stewart - Yamaha -Wilcock Consulting - 13:05.418 DNF - Michael Elliott - Yamaha - M Elliott Racing - 9:53.344 DNF - Kenny Gilbertson - Kawasaki - Astro Racing Kawasaki - 6:59.187 DNF - Kieran Blair - Suzuki - Unique Racing - 6:45.178 DNF - Michael O'brien - Yamaha - Motomob - 1:42.530 DNF - Graham English - Yamaha - Tiva Engineering - 2:07.382 Championship points 1 - Steve Brogan - 120 2 - John Kirkham - 80 3 - Marshall Neill - 75 4 - Alistair Seeley - 64 5 - Peter Hickman - 38 6 - Adrian Coates - 38 7 - Lee Jackson - 35 8 - Victor Cox - 33 9 - Conor Cummins - 30 10 - Ben Wilson - 29
