Steve Brogan continued his class domination and march towards the Metzeler National Superstock title with his seventh victory of the season at Cadwell Park (25 August). The Honda UK Racing rider from Liverpool laid down the gauntlet from the lights as he raced neck and neck with Jon Kirkham into the first corner. Edging the Honda’s nose ahead of the Raceways Yamaha, Brogan controlled the race from the front of the field. The deployment of the Safety Car on lap 5 to allow marshalls time to clear straw debris from Barn corner, did nothing to halt Brogan’s progress. Playing the tactical game, he pulled the field in close, slowing the pace until he reached Barn corner. With the safety car pulling in, Brogan gained the drive he needed out of the final corner to cross the line with almost a second gap to Kirkham. Ben Wilson looked to have third in the bag, but an uncharacteristic error on the penultimate lap allowed both Hickman and Coates through on the approach to the mountain. The Boston based rider would have to settle for fifth as Hickman recorded his first podium of the year. Steve Brogan moves another five points clear The tenth round of the season takes place at Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire in three weeks time (12-14 September). Steve Brogan, Race Winner: “This is the first time I’ve been smiling this weekend. Cadwell is so demanding and I was really disappointed with my Supersport result. The team has all worked so hard and I took all my aggression from the 600 to the Superstock! No matter what I do I just can’t seem to shake Kirkham, but it’s great to get the win once again.” National Superstock 1000 – Cadwell Park Race Result Pos – Rider – Bike – Team - Time 1 - Steve Brogan - Honda - Honda UK Racing - 19:29.447 2 - Jon Kirkham - Yamaha - Raceways Yamaha - 19:32.594 3 - Peter Hickman - Yamaha - Ultimate Racing - 19:34.403 4 - Adrian Coates - Yamaha - Dyer Crossgills Racing - 19:35.181 5 - Ben Wilson - Yamaha - Ben-Wilson-Racing.com - 19:35.627 6 - Kenny Gilbertson - Kawasaki - Astro Racing Kawasaki - 19:39.660 7 - Daniel Hegarty - Yamaha - SPR Racing - 19:39.787 8 - Ian Hutchinson - Kawasaki - Bournemouth Kawasaki / Hawk - 19:40.202 9 - Lee Jackson - Yamaha - NCT Racing - 19:41.729 10 - Barry Burrell - Yamaha - SCG Performance - 19:41.994 11 - Cameron Donald - Suzuki - Relentless Suzuki by TAS - 19:42.447 12 - Marshall Neill - Suzuki - Mahon Garden Centre - 19:44.498 13 - Kierran Blair - Suzuki - Unique Racing / Morello Roofing - 19:44.796 14 - Steve Mercer - Kawasaki - MSS Discovery Kawasaki - 19:44.882 15 - Gavin Hunt - Honda - Martin Bullock Race Team - 19:45.258 16 - Howie Mainwaring - Suzuki - Lenzkes Clamping Tools GB Ltd - 19:47.737 17 - Kieran Clarke - Honda - Hydrex Bike Animal Honda - 19:50.242 18 - Peter Ward - Yamaha - SCG Performance - 19:50.867 19 - Dan Stewart - Yamaha -Wilcock Consulting - 19:51.336 20 - Jonathan Howarth - Suzuki - Jonathan Howarth Racing - 19:52.267 21 - Craig Beggs - Yamaha - Middlewich Tank Wash Ltd - 19:52.692 22 - Victor Cox - Yamaha - VC Motorsport / STP Motorsport - 19:56.052 23 - Christian Elkin - Kawasaki - Motorcycle Centre Stockport - 19:57.097 24 - Michael O'Brien - Yamaha - Motomob - 19:57.912 25 - Martin Buckles - Kawasaki - JX Kawasaki - 19:59.603 26 - Mark Lister - Suzuki - Orwell Racing - 20:00.495 27 - James Hurrell - Yamaha - Enanjay Racing - 20:04.176 28 - Bryan Campbell - Suzuki - BCR - 20:06.135 29 - Steve Heneghan - Yamaha - Quattro Racing - 20:08.706 30 - Mark Van Daalen - Yamaha - Dutch-2-UK Racing - 20:10.370 31 - Michael Elliott - Yamaha - M Elliott Racing - 20:30.358 32 - Joel Morris - Honda - SSB Sport / A1 Motorcycles - 20:38.665 Not Classified DNF - Sam Warren - Yamaha - GR / Ssangyong Racing - 11:57.242 DNF - Alan Moreton - Yamaha - Alamo Racing Ltd - 10:02.214 DNF - Jimmy Storrar - Suzuki - Jimmy Storrar Racing - 4:43.087 Championship Points 1 - Steve Brogan - 215 2 - John Kirkham - 165 3 - Marshall Neill - 88 4 - Alistair Seeley - 81 5 - Adrian Coates - 81 6 - Peter Hickman - 76 7 - Lee Jackson - 71 8 - Ben Wilson - 54 9 - Victor Cox - 50 10 - Kenny Gilbertson - 46
