After a disappointing start for Hudson Kennaugh on his Carbon cans Yamaha at the Brands Hatch season opener, he is determined to have a better result at round two at Donington Park this weekend. Kennaugh attended a track day at Donington Park last week, just to reacquaint himself with the circuit, “The track day was full of racers!” he said “Lots of Superstock guys and R6 Cup riders. Everyone has obviously had the same idea.” The Metzeler Racetec National Superstock Championship is more competitive than ever this year and it has so many entries that two qualifying sessions are required. Kennaugh didn’t have a good qualifying session at Brands and it was an up hill struggle until the chequered flag came out. “I need to qualify well otherwise you just get boxed in off the line, I need to get away with the front runners. I need to improve and my race result must be better,” commented Kennaugh. The one advantage Kennaugh has this weekend is track knowledge having tested with the Rizla Suzuki team at Donington last year. “At Brands I was starting out from scratch as I didn’t know the circuit and the British weather was causing chaos! This time round I know the track and I’m looking forward to improving my results,” he concluded.
