Glamour model and media personality Jodie Marsh will on Friday 31 March officially open the brand new, modern pit and paddock complex at the world famous Donington Park – a name synonymous with top level motorsports.
Ms Marsh, a keen motorsport enthusiast, will unveil the new state-of-the-art facilities along with Donington Park’s Managing Director Brian Pallett at the East Midlands circuit - home to the British Motorcycle Grand Prix - in an official ceremony at 11am on Friday.
More than 250 people, including members of the national and local media, local councillors and VIPs from motorsport and commerce will be present to witness the unveiling of this exciting new development.
Brian Pallett said: “We are delighted that Jodie will be with us to officially re-open the circuit. Friday promises to be an exciting day with tours of the new facilities, displays by representatives from motorsport clubs and associations and action on the track. The end of the redevelopment is the beginning of a new future for Donington Park.”
The construction work has taken six months to complete, costing around £5 million. It has seen the provision of 38 new pit garages, a new race control, new media centre, the doubling in size of the Paddock Suite and the resurfacing of the circuit.
The first major championship to benefit from the new facilities will be round two of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship on April 7-9. |
