Race One
An extremely happy Leon Haslam on the Airwaves Ducati took a well earned race win at Donington Park ahead of the Stobart Honda team of Tom Sykes and Shane Byrne.
Gregorio Lavilla took up fourth place on the second Airwaves Ducati pushing HM Plant Honda’s Jonathan Rea back into fifth place. His team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari was very unlucky as Cal Crutchlow knocked him off at Goddards. This opened up the Championship race all over again.
Chris Walker on the Rizla Suzuki finished sixth having initially challenged at the front for a podium position. Scott Smart was the first Kawasaki home ahead of his Hawk Colchester Kawasaki team-mate James Haydon.
Michael Rutter on the Isilon MSS Discovery Kawasaki managed a ninth place finish with Steve Plater on the AIM Yamaha in tenth place.
Race Two
Leon Haslam took a superb double win at his home round of Donington Park to keep his title hopes alive.
He was followed over the line by Tom Sykes on the Stobart Honda who managed two second place finishes. Haslam beat him over the line by just 0.056secs, Sykes is keen to win before the end of the year and may well manage it at Brand Hatch.
The final step of the podium went to Ryuichi Kiyonari on the HM Plant Honda who had a nightmare weekend. He had hoped to wrap up the title this weekend but a crash in race one scuppered his chances of that.
Chris Walker on the Rizla Suzuki finished in fourth place ahead of Gregorio Lavilla on the second Airwaves Ducati. Shane Byrne had to start from pit lane due to a problem with his number one bike but he still managed a top ten finish in sixth place.
The second HM Plant Honda rider Jonathan Rea had a tough day on track finishing race two in seventh. The Isilon MSS Discovery Kawaski has come on leaps and bounds chassis wise and Michael Rutter has reaped the benefits by finishing in eight place. Steve Plater on the AIM Yamaha came home in ninth and Karl Harris finished in tenth on the Hydrex Honda.
