Hudson Kennaugh seemed determined to show the Ten Kate boys Andrew Pit and Jonathan Rea just how competitive the British domestic series actually is. Hudson and Glen were on the pace all weekend sitting comfortably behind the Ten Kate team in yet again changeable and difficult conditions with high winds presenting all riders with some scary moments. Hudson started the race in forth position and was hoping to capitalise on the team’s decision of fitting a harder rear tyre towards the end of the race. Or at least that was the plan, the Raceways garage seemed anxious watching Hudson stay with the leaders in the early laps but slowly fade as the race progressed eventually retiring on the penultimate lap. I later caught up with Steve Rodger’s Team Manager he said “we were all nervous that we had made a wrong tyre selection going to hard but it’s turned out that a small inexpensive component has caused an engine failure but that’s racing. The race result has since been amended by virtue of both Ten Kate riders being disqualified for not going to parc ferme after race finish.
