Debut pole-sitter, Jack Kennedy on the Rob Mac Pro Ride Yamaha R6 was beaten from the lights by James Westmoreland into Seat, the lead changing places to Glen Richards a few corners later. Lowry’s body language portrayed that of determination as he hunted for pass on Richards for the lead.A quick show at Real Radio Hairpin was suitably admonished by Richards on lap 4, but only proved to be dry run for the move to stick two laps later. Lowry powered his GSX-R into a comfortable lead that never he looked in danger of losing over the next sixteen laps. Behind, Richards came under pressure from Westmoreland, with Webb, Kennaugh, Jack Kennedy and David Paton making up the front runners. Local rider David Paton’s race came to an end with a technical on lap 11, leaving the front six to break clear. Chris Martin (Gearlinks Kawasaki) battled throughout the race with Buff Triumph’s Rob Frost, swapping places a number of times as each searched bravely for the same piece of tarmac. As Lowry crossed the line for the start of lap 23, signals came in from Marshall posts to the effect of heavy rain across parts of the circuit.The red fag brought an abrupt conclusion with the result taken from the end of lap 22, declaring Lowry the winner on the track for the frst time this season. Westmoreland took second for Centurion Racing with Glen Richards rounding out the podium. Ian Lowry: “It was absolutely fantastic.The boys have worked hard all weekend, they got the bike set-up on Friday real well and all credit to them and it worked well all day and never missed a beat.The boys back home have been working on the K8 bike to get it transformed into a race winning bike and they've done that today.
