Lucie Stone
Lucie Stone is racing in
the Ducati Desmo Due Championship
Name: Lucie Stone
DOB: 13th September 1981
Home Town: Grew up in Devon, now living in
Mansfield, Nottingham.
Marital Status: With partner for 5 years!
Height: 164.6cm
Weight: 69kg
Job: Assistant electrical testing engineer,
organiser of PAT testing and paperwork sorter
Race History: 2006 is my Novice year. My best
result so far is an 8th in class at Castle Combe
Ambitions: Keep improving on the Ducati, make it
up to top 5 finishes soon as I can
Hobbies: Motorbikes, riding on the road and
track. Tattoos! Getting a bit of an obsession, I love
having a new tattoo, must be a pain thing.
After several years taking
part in trackdays and helping out my boyfriend, Tony
(who is also racing in the series), and my Dad with
their race bikes, I've finally decided to take the
plunge! Trackdays gave me the buzz of riding on the
track, but my riding stopped improving as I've found no
motivation to push harder. Racing should help further my
riding ability and will hopefully be a lot of fun along
the way.
With the series, created by the Ducati Sporting Club UK,
focusing on novice riders looking for that first step up
from trackdays, this seemed the ideal opportunity to get
out there and have a go.
What is the Ducati Desmo Due
championship: The Desmo Due series is the baby of
the Ducati Sporting Club UK. It was started in 2005 to
introduce it's members, who were currently doing
trackdays, to a relatively inexpensive series where they
could race Ducati's. In the first year the choice of
bikes were 600SS, 600 Monsters, 620SS, 620 Monsters or
620 Multistradas. The 583cc bikes were allowed to big
bore up to 675cc to make them more competitive with the
later bikes. Everyone was to run on Pirelli Diablo tyres
only, no wets, no tyre warmers. All in all the season
was a big success, with interest from people like Ducati
UK, Shell oils, Pirelli and many motorcycle
publications. For up to date info
