Scuderia Triumph-SC delivered the riders who will contest, on the Triumph 675 Daytona, the 2008 600 Superstock European Championship, the prestigious series promoted by FIM and FG Sport for the young guns of World motorcycle, reserved to Under 20 riders. The riders who will up-hold the Triumph’s colours are the English Tom Grant, nineteenth year old, and the Scottish Robbie Stewart, just sixteenth year old, two of the most promising and brilliant riders contesting the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Robbie Stewart is one of the most talented young motorcycle racers, also known as “Wee Midge”. Robbie is born the 27 November 1991 in Bridge of Earn, Perthshire, and has been racing since he was just eight years old. He quickly established himself in the highly competitive Minimoto Class, and within just two years found himself representing his country as British Minimoto Champion in Italy. Three further seasons in Minimoto racing saw Robbie accumulate multiple Scottish and UK awards, and at the end of 2004 he began to move to 125cc racing. In 2005 he raced an RS125 Aprilia in both the Scottish and MRO Superteens Championship. He won every round of an amazing debut season to take the Scottish Championship, while numerous wins and podium finishes resulted in runners-up spot in the MRO series and firmly established Robbie as one of racing’s promising young stars. 2006 saw Robbie progress to a bigger stage, riding in the high profile British 125GP Championship, with a superb win first time out at Donington Park and, despite not competing in a number of rounds, Robbie finished the year with a top-five placing in the series. The latter part of the season saw Robbie successfully compete in the final rounds of the ultra-tough Spanish 125cc Championship. In the past season Robbie compete once more in the British 125cc Championship, finishing as runner-up despite non competing in several rounds, scoring four wins and a couple of second places. After this successfully season Robbie managed to win the Dorna Academy Cup at Cadwell Park and has been invited by Dorna out to Spain to test with MotoGP Academy at Jerez, a fantastic achievement and an honour to close a brilliant season.
